I’m Angela! I run the ins and outs of our little farm, along side my best friend (husband) and muscle of the operation, Sam. Neither of us expected to be where we are today, but we sure do love the farm life!

I was born and raised in Southeast Arkansas in a rural country setting. I helped raise and rehabilitate all sorts of critters growing up. I settled down in Central Arkansas, had a family and started a career in the tech and design world. I work as a Web Designer when I am not playing farmer.

Sam was born and raised in the Dakotas. The Army National Guard brought him to Arkansas back in 2013, where he eventually bought a house directly across the street from mine later that year. We instantly made a connection and bonded over deep philosophical bonfire convos. Sam is an IT nerd… still a prisoner of the Army, but that’s for another conversation.

Fast-forward to February of 2019. My friend Sam accompanied me to a James Taylor concert. He’d just arrived home from a back-to-back deployment and we were set on letting our hair down and just having a good time, as friends. Sometime between Bonnie Raitt’s set and James Taylor’s, we crossed the friendship barrier and liked it. A lot. I was in the middle of a divorce at the time (a pretty toxic relationship), and Sam knew the guy, so we both struggled to fight the urge to plummet into something more. That didn’t last long, though. We were married the following year and have never looked back.

We purchased 10 acres in Faulkner County Arkansas in April of this 2022. The property came with a handful of birds… chickens, turkeys, a wild flock of guinea and two wild guardian peacocks. We jumped right in to learning all we could about poultry. Since settling in, we’ve expanded our flock. Chicken math. And we’ve also added sheep and goats to our petting zoo.

Sam and I are also in the midst of trying to expand our family. Because of cancer in 2010, I am unable to carry anymore children, so we have been on a journey through surrogacy for the last 3 years. We’ve had 5 failed embryo transfers, sadly, but we’re trusting that God has another plan in store for us. We have begun the process of adoption and are hoping to welcome a new little one into our home soon.
